Justin Gluesing, AMA ESD Superintendent, receives a check for $3,000 from Christine Hitch on behalf of the Alpena Rotary Club. The funds will support the purchase and installation of ADA-accessible playground equipment for students with disabilities at each public elementary school campus across the AMA ESD's three-county region. The AMA ESD's service area encompasses all of Alpena, Montmorency, and Alcona Counties and includes Alpena Public Schools, Alcona, Atlanta, and Hillman Community Schools.
"The Rotary Club of Alpena is an organization dedicated to serving our community," Gluesing said. "Rotary continues to look for ways to support area youth, and the AMA ESD and our member districts are grateful for their support of this important project."
Phase 1 of the project is scheduled for installation this summer at Alcona, Atlanta, and Hillman Community Schools. Phase 2 of the project is planned for the summer of 2024 and will focus on the Alpena Public School’s campuses.
Any group interested in supporting this project can contact AMA ESD Superintendent Justin Gluesing at 989.354.3101.
