Sarah Griffore, AMA ESD School Social Worker, is being honored as the Michigan Association of School Social Work (MASSW) Region G Social Worker of the Year. She was nominated by her colleague, AMA ESD School Social Worker Tracy Romel, who reported: “In her current position with Alpena-Montmorency-Alcona Educational Service District, one of Sarah's greatest strengths is her ability to build relationships with students and families. She is warm, approachable, and non-judgmental. Sarah creates a safe space for students to share their thoughts and feelings. She is also skilled at assessing students' needs and developing individualized plans to help them meet their goals. Sarah is also a tireless advocate for students. She is always looking for ways to improve the lives of students, and she is not afraid advocate on their behalf. She is also a strong advocate for social justice, and she works to create a more equitable and inclusive school environment for all students.”
Sarah will be recognized at the MASSW Conference in October 2023.
