If you've been in downtown Alpena this summer, you may have noticed these beautiful flower planters.
The seed was planted last year when Special Education Teacher Tina DenBleyker saw the begonias planted downtown. She realized their students could fill a need in the community by using their school's greenhouse AND show off their students’ skill sets. Stewardship is an important piece of education at Pied Piper, and the students love the hobbies they have developed and giving back to the community through projects like these.
Thank you to the students at Pied Piper for beautifying the alleyway with your gorgeous flowers!
Special thanks to Tina DenBleyker and Beth Lucas for bringing this project to life!
