Alpena Community College (ACC) and schools within the Alpena Montmorency Alcona Educational Service District (AME-ESD) have aligned 2025 spring breaks.
Educational leaders say the change removes one of the biggest hurdles for dual-enrolled and early college students - having to work around two different spring breaks.
The scheduling agreement will enable high school students from Alcona, Alpena, Atlanta and Hillman to attend ACC courses with one less disruption, while still being able to enjoy spring break.

ACC and the schools have agreed to take spring break the week of March 17-21, 2025.
The college issued a statement that said, “ACC would like to thank everyone who was involved in the discussions and planning for aligning our academic calendars, including ACC faculty, our academic partners in the local schools, and the AMA-ESD.”
College officials went on to say they believe the change “…will make participation in dual enrollment and early college opportunities at ACC even better for local high school students.”
